Listener-ship, viewership, or subscriber-ship are terms we in the media are very familiar with and use quite often. Check your dictionary!To the creators of this blog, I agree the clip on this site was quite funny my staff and I enjoyed it. A man who cannot find humor even in himself has a problem! We are not mad at you funny and impressive!I don't normally visit blogs or respond to them..this is my exception. I hope you will post my response to the Greg Aymond Blog Post Brown admits he made buy for racist ad .I want to apologize to those who may have been offended by my private phone call to Greg Aymond it(the phone call) which i thought was private, obviously most of you realize that, like the Hilton ad was only intended for a specific audience. Just as Wagner has placed radio ads that boast about his hiring and promotions of more blacks than his predecessor, which aired only on black/urban radio, I don't see the difference. Furthermore when I received a mail-out from Wagner to my home in Woodworth showing a Black man selling dope to a white guy was that racist? To most black people it was offensive and racist! I never saw a drug deal in Woodworth but i know Meth is a problem in the rural areas of our parish why not a mailer showing that?Unlike Mr Aymond and those who think like him, I could not be offended by Sheriff Wagner's racist mail-out because he was playing to his base just as Hilton's ad was playing to his base. That message although received at my home was not meant for me!Overwhelmingly Hilton took every black precinct he is well liked in our community. So why be offended by a message that was not meant for you? Who has the authority to say a message meant for us was racist but us? My point is,just as I have no right to be offended by Wagner's racist mail-out showing a black drug dealer that hit the doorsteps of every white neighborhood, (It was not mailed to not one predominately black neighborhood) Aymond and those like him have no more right to be offended by a message meant for us!Me placing and ad wasn't news it was business! KSYL's problem is that Dave the non-journalist Greichen took a client's ad that was in Cenla's Broadcasting commercial programing computer with a purchase insertion order for Kiss 98.7, (urban hip-hop) and played it on the other Cenla Broadcasting products it was not authorized or intended for, under the guise of news.What a way to treat a paying client! If it is not a potential legal issue it certainly may have breached the rules of professional conduct towards a paying client. Those of us who earned our degree's in Broadcast/Print Journalism are trained on simple points like fairness, balance and objectivity.KSYL and the Town Talks coverage were pure and simple hatchet jobs to get the candidate they have endorsed or like into office. Their is a big difference in reading news and reporting it. News readers with a nice voice more often than not, couldn't break or cover a real news story if they had two blankets!Desperate diversions and distractions are at work here. Its unfortunate that this particular race has gotten nasty and personal for many both sides have used hyperbole and played the race card, but only one side is being raked over the coals.I know both candidates and my dealings with both have been pleasant and professional this race underscores a persistent problem in cenla we are still divided, not just by race!Politics is a nasty dirty business, the hit dog yelps the loudest and if you can't hang with the big dogs stay on the porch.We can all agree to disagree but lets realize that in this great country called America we must all strive to get along.
